For over twenty years we lived in Hertfordshire but yearned for the East coast, where we sailed and played. We had bought many pictures over these years and curiously they all seemed to reflect this sense of place. When we moved them to Orford it was as if the pictures had come home! So surprised were we by their extraordinary fit, it struck us that we might contact some of the artists, that we either had met through their art, or now were neighbours and suggested an exhibition at Orford.
So was born the notion of the Great House Gallery.
Once the thought had occurred, it then seemed obvious to bring back to England work created by one extraordinary family member, much of it created in East Anglia, and add these to the exhibitions.
Hence the Great House gallery became ''Paintings, Pictures, Phots and Pots''.
